Lake Cities Lions donated a large collection of used eyeglasses to the North Texas Eyeglass Recycling Center

Established in 2000, the charter members of the Lake Cities Lions Club – comprised of local men and women in the community, founded what is today the only civic service organization serving Corinth, Hickory Creek, Lake Dallas and Shady Shores.

Our charter members, similar to Melvin Jones, the founder of the Lions Club International in 1917, envisioned bringing together people “who are successful because of their drive, intelligence and ambition, were to put their talents to work improving their communities.”  Today, there are approximately 46,000 clubs and 1.3 million members in more than 200 countries.

The Lion’s mission is to ‘empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs.’ The Lake Cities Lions supports numerous community ventures including the pledge made to Helen Keller in 1925 to become "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness."
